Terra Nova Folate is the biologically active form of folic acid. Methylfolate does not need to be converted into an active form in the body. Methylfolate is able to directly effect homocysteine levels reducing the risk of vascular disease. Folic acid is not easily absorbed by a portion of the population whereas Methylfolate does not have this issue.
